2008 CROP REPORT

Our strawberry harvest is now finished for this season. The crop was great and everyone had a lot of fun picking their own tasty berries.

For information about the 2009 crop please check this space about mid-June.

Join the many local families who visit our strawberry fields every year to pick their own fresh delicious berries. Most come for the special flavour of our Veestar strawberries. Cool northern evenings enhance the naturally sweet, luscious flavour of this variety. Strawberry picking is an activity people of all ages can enjoy in the quiet beauty of our natural surroundings. Field supervisors assist customers to areas marked for the best picking. Pickers enjoy kneeling on the straw that surrounds all of the plants in the field to keep berries clean.

NUTRITION

Strawberries are high in iron and Vitamin C and have only 50 calories per cup. They are also a good source of folic acid, fiber, potassium, and cancer-fighting antioxidants.

Besides being healthy, strawberries are a very versatile fruit. They can be used in baked goods, salads, beverages, dipped, or eaten plain.
