Sustainable Farming and Biodiversity

We use many sustainable, eco-friendly farm and forest practices to care for our soil and water resources and to protect and increase the diversity of the native species on our property. We try to have minimal impact on our natural surroundings while earning our living from the products that we grow. Our farm is a haven for many kinds of wildlife, some of which need assistance to survive in our modern world. Our blueberry plantings and forage fields are surrounded by the forest that covers much of the farm. We have fields dedicated to the growing of wild flowers, grasses and legumes and many edge areas where forest meets field.  These habitats are ideal places for birds, insects and other wild creatures to find food and shelter. Many kinds of berry plants grow on our farm, some wild and some cultivated. All of these fruits are utilized both by our wildlife and by Valerie for her homemade jams.  We offer these jams for sale. It is our pleasure to share the peace and natural beauty of this farm with our customers as we provide them with fresh, local fruit excellent in flavour and filled with health benefits.
